Event Host (VC & Startup Ecosystem)
- Time: Part-Time / Gig / Ad Hoc
- Location: NYC, SF, LA, Austin, or Chicago (or nearby)
- Compensation: $100/hr + bonuses + referral commissions

What You’ll Actually Do
- Be the face of the room. Welcome guests, open panels, hold attention like a pro
- Own the energy. From chill networking to TED-style speaker flow, you set the tone
- Put out fires like it’s your job. Because it is. Event experience matters
- Spark real connections.You’re not there to smile & stand. You connect the dots
- Host select private events for our clients—where your presence helps land deals and shorten pipelines
- Contribute to business development by surfacing high-value intros and follow-up opportunities

Who You Are
- 3+ years hosting events (not just reading a script—you command a room)
- 5+ years in startups, VC, high-growth companies, or business development
- A magnetic connector who thrives in high-energy rooms
- A strong communicator with the emotional intelligence to move a crowd

Where are events held?

How often would I work?

What exactly is a "Kamp Counselor"?
It’s our signature title for the elite event hosts who bring our startup/VC events to life. You’re not just introducing speakers—you’re commanding the room, creating energy, and building meaningful connections that spark deals, funding, and partnerships.
It’s half emcee, half community builder, half fixer. Yes, that’s 150%. We move fast.
Where are these events held?
Our core cities are New York, San Francisco, LA, Chicago, and Austin. If you’re based nearby or can travel easily, you’re golden.
Do I have to travel?
Not always—but often. If you’re part of our inner Kamp Counselor circle, expect all-expense-paid travel to help us host in other cities. We’ll always give advance notice and work around your availability.
What’s the time commitment?
2–3 events per month. Some are weekday evenings, others are weekend vibes. Most events run 3–4 hours with setup and wind-down. You’ll always know the calendar in advance.
What’s the pay?
$100/hour per event, plus bonuses + referral commissions when your energy helps close deals, bring in speakers, or unlock new sponsors. Our top hosts earn well beyond the hourly rate.
Will I be on a team or solo?
You’ll work alongside our core exec team at every event. Think: founders, speakers, sponsors, and the Kamp event ops crew. You’re never flying solo—you’re the face with a support squad behind you.
Do I need hosting experience?
Yes. This isn’t your first mic. We’re looking for someone who can command attention, not just read intros. 3+ years of hosting experience + 5+ years in the startup/VC world is our sweet spot.
What if I don’t have a reel?
No worries. Just submit your two short intro videos (we’ll send prompts) + any clip of you leading, moderating, or speaking at a live event. If you don’t have one, improvise with what you’ve got—we care more about vibe than production value.

Think VIP-only. Our top hosts get access to private dinners, strategy retreats, city-specific WhatsApp groups, early invites to new city expansions, and unreleased experiences before anyone else.
